Exploring the Human Condition
Vishnu is a San Francisco-based Indian writer and filmmaker. A lifelong student of cinema and literature, his artistic practice explores relationships, love and the many facets of the human condition. Vishnu's first project with Liberty Lane Films, Finding People, is a delicate, Eric Rohmer-esque springtime drama that explores the ephemeral beauty of first connections.
That pivotal first project marked the beginning of a magical creative relationship. In addition to writing and directing his own work, Vishnu is a meticulous producer leading the production for the feature film Angels Everywhere, the documentary feature Meet Me at the Club: The Castro Country Club Story, the multiple-award-winning short film, Here For Now; and music videos for singer-songwriter Forrest Hill's "Crack in the Land of the Free" and "Barrier to Love." Vishnu also serves as an Impact Producer on Adriana Marchione’s documentary feature film, The Creative High.
Vishnu received a Bachelor of Design in Cinematography and Film Production from India's Symbiosis Institute of Design, and a Master of Fine Arts from San Francisco State University's School of Cinema where he received the Graduate Student Award for Distinguished Achievement for outstanding scholarship and creative work. Whether writing, directing or producing, Vishnu approaches filmmaking with curiosity, rigor and an enduring fascination with the messy, contradictory business of being human.
