Why this campaign? Why Now?
Sister Roma and Sister Shalita Corndog of The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence came to Liberty Lane Films to create a public awareness campaign in response to an urgent need to solve an alarming problem within the LGBTQ+ community: a shocking rise in violence and hate crimes against queer and trans people.

The brief was simple: Help!
Sister Roma, Sister Shalita Corndog and The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence being friends and supporters of our work—including awarding grants to support Meet Me at The Club two years in a row—came to us with a fairly simple ask: Help us create a public service announcement and public safety campaign so we can prevent violence happening in our community.
We came up with a simple, 3-step solution that’s easy to remember, and even easier to execute: Buddy-Up, Hookup, Follow-Up. Buddy-Up by choosing a trusted friend to be your safety check-in, send screenshots of who you’re meeting, and share your location. Hookup, a.k.a. the fun part. And, Follow-Up by setting a time to check in with your friend to let them know you’re safe—or if you need help.
Once we refined and articulated the concept, it was time to craft the videos, write the ad scripts, and wrangle the Liberty Lane Films team to put together a truly fabulous holistic campaign. Working with The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence to support these efforts has been a true joy. It’s been great to work with the entire team to create a range of media, posters, ads and other resources for this integrated campaign.

The Trevor Project

San francisco Drug & Relapse Line
Substance abuse and addiction are closely intertwined with suicide and emotional pain, so San Francisco Suicide Prevention established these programs to assist people who were struggling with substance-related issues as well as their friends and families. The Drug Line and Relapse Line provide referrals to specialized treatment programs, crisis intervention, information on addictions and recovery, and emotional support along the recovery journey.

Pineapple Support
Pineapple Support provides 24/7, trained listener support, professional therapy and counseling services, as well as educational resources to all online adult industry professionals. Queer Life Space
Queer LifeSpace (QLS) is a San Francisco-based nonprofit counseling agency that provides affordable, evidence-based mental health and substance abuse services to the LGBTQIA+ community in the Bay Area by queer people, for queer people. We also run an internationally-recognized clinical training program for the next generation of queer-affirming therapists. QLS offers sliding scale services beginning at $30-$40 for individuals, $60 for couples, and $20 for group services.
